Program details
The Paula's House program is a 1-2 year transitional program dedicated to providing a caring and dignified residential home for homeless women in recovery, who are single or with children. Our primary focus is relapse prevention and permanent, supportive housing.
The woman we serve:
Homeless adult females 18 years and older who demonstrate a commitment to recovery
Primary diagnosis is a substance use disorder
Fully willing to follow all house and program rules
First 30 days resident will be expected to stay in the home being in the company of an escort on approved outings
Must attend all in-house meetings
Resident will be asked to provide a drug screen upon arrival and be expected random drug screens moving forward
Resident will be able to have one drop off a week checked and approved by staff
Resident is able to go grocery shopping once a week with approved escort
Must attend 12-step meetings regularly and obtain a sponsor
Residents will began their day with daily devotions
Residents will share chores and community spaces
Residents pay 30% of net income towards rent once they have a source of income
We offer:

Peer recovery services
Referrals to community services
A 4-phase system of increasing privileges to enable a strong foundation to live on
Therapeutic activities-Wellness training: Mind, Body, and, Spirit
Support in balancing recovery, employment, schooling and parenting
Parenting Classes-Family coach- Restoring parent and child relationships
Life skills training
Sober activities
The Paula's House program is funded through grants, individuals, private foundations, government agencies, organizations, and corporate and individual sponsorships. It is a Michigan non-profit corporation and has 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service.
